Sign language continues to be the preferred method of communication among the deaf and the hearing-impaired. Advances in information technology have prompted the development of systems that can facilitate automatic translation between sign language and spoken language. Every day, millions of deaf people all over the world are using SL to get useful information and exchange ideas. Therefore, in recent years, SL recognition has gained a lot of attention and a variety of solutions have been proposed. More recently systems translating between sign and spoken language have become popular. This paper propose methodology for sign language recognition system using contour analysis.
