“P to P (Point to Point) SMS Security using Dictionary Based Encryption”

The growth of wireless networks has brought large changes in mobile equipments, or devices, middleware-development, standards, network implementation and user acceptance. Digital chip technology facilitated the development of smaller and lighter mobile devices. In particular mobile cellular technology that supports packet data transmission provides benefits to individuals and organizations by enabling them to connect to the internet from almost any place, at any time via a mobile device. So it is important to provide security to mobile communication.
The most important automated tool for communications security is encryption. Cryptography can be seen as a mathematical science that deals with the design of encryption and message authentication algorithms. There exist many different encryption algorithms. Here we have used two-Dimensional Dictionary hashing technique to provide point-to-point security to mobile users. Using this technique even service provider cannot read the SMS of mobile consumer. Instead of using seven bit code only five bit code is used which provides compression thereby increasing size of SMS.
