Braille Language-Self Learner for Blinds
Sunil Kumar (M.E. – Karnataka University)
Life is uncertain; accidents are not coming with an appointment. As Per WHO statistics, 161 million persons live with a disabling visual impairment, of whom 37 million are blind and 124 million are persons with low vision. Every 5 seconds someone becomes blind, every minute somewhere a child goes blind. About 90% of them live in developing countries.
The person with born blindness can learn Braille Language from their childhood and enter the world of education. But the accidental blind person in their later ages will not be familiar with Braille Language and hence even educated persons can not read after being blind. So this inspires us to do something for these persons.
